Opening Doors to Innovation:
National Engineering Month 2025

March is National Engineering Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the incredible contributions of engineers across Canada. Presented by Engineers Canada in partnership with Engineering Deans Canada, this year’s theme—Engineers Open Doors—highlights the profession’s role in creating new possibilities and shaping a better future.

Celebrating 100 Years of the Calling of an Engineer

2025 marks a milestone for the engineering profession: the 100th anniversary of the Calling of an Engineer ceremony, where students receive their Iron Rings. This iconic symbol represents an engineer’s dedication to integrity, ethics, and service to the public. It is a constant reminder of their responsibility to uphold the highest professional standards.

Engineers Open Doors

Engineers drive innovation, tackle complex challenges, and continuously improve the world around us. They are problem-solvers, innovators, and visionaries who shape the future of our communities. From advancing energy efficiency and sustainability to designing cutting-edge technology, engineers truly open doors to progress.

Join the Celebration

Throughout March, engineering institutions, companies, and organizations will host Doors Open events across the country, offering the public a glimpse into the diverse and impactful work of engineers. Engineers Nova Scotia is organizing various events throughout the month, providing opportunities to connect, learn, and be inspired. Explore the event calendar at Engineers Nova Scotia to find local events.
