The Student Activities Committee administers a comprehensive program for the educational community as developed by ASHRAE Society for the purpose of promoting and encouraging engineering and HVAC&R careers. It administers and promotes student activities at all levels in the educational system.

Local Activities

Our chapter has an active Student Activities Committee to engage with students and provide the networking and training in the HVAC field that they will need for careers. Typical activites throughout the year include:

  • Student Chapters.
  • Speed Networking events. Usually one in Nov and another in Feb. Stay tuned!
  • Technical tours.
  • Job Bank – see link in top right for opportunities.
  • Capstone project support – ASHRAE Halifax chapter has supported an HVAC-related project the past 2 years.
  • Social events such as rock climbing, frisbee, hikes.

Scholarships (money!)

There are several scholarships available at the local and national levels. We encourage you to apply to all those that will meet your financial needs.
