ASHRAE Halifax Chapter Past Presidents Honoured with ASHRAE Distinguished Service Award

ASHRAE Honours Aaron Smith and Mark Lawrence of Halifax Chapter with  Distinguished Service Awards!

At our September Monthly Meeting on September 26, 2024, we proudly presented two distinguished ASHRAE Distinguished Service Awards to Aaron Smith and Mark Lawrence for their outstanding contributions to our chapter and the broader ASHRAE community.

Aaron Smith, of M&R Engineering, has been a member since 2006 and served as Chapter President in 2015. With numerous chapter leadership roles and as a long-standing Board of Governors member, Aaron has made a lasting impact. He was Co-Chair of the 2019 Region 2 CRC (Halifax) and Regional YEA Chair (2011-2013). Aaron has also contributed to key standards committees, including ASHRAE Standard 209, since 2012.

Mark Lawrence, of MLE Consulting Engineers, also joined ASHRAE in 2006 and served as Chapter President in 2012. Their leadership spans multiple chapter positions, including Chair of our new DEI Committee. Mark has held several regional roles, including CRC Chair (2019) and RVC for Membership Promotion (2014-2016) and Research Promotion (2017-2019). They recently completed a term on the Residential Buildings Committee (2020-2023).

The ASHRAE Halifax Chapter and ASHRAE Region II extend their deepest appreciation to Aaron and Mark for their years of leadership, dedication, and tireless efforts.
